AP Seminar Team Project and Presentation

Over the past few weeks, I completed an individual research report and a team multimedia presentation through my AP Seminar class on the extent that anthropogenic induced global climate change adversely effects humanity. In this project, I collaborated with several group members and explored our thesis through environmental, social, futuristic, and economic lenses.

Today, I participated in the Cary Teen Council Forum Series – Meet an NFL Epidemiologist. In this WebEx meeting, I learned the role epidemiologists play in cancer research and in contact tracing for diseases such as COVID-19.

In the famous words of Captain Jack Sparrow, “I’ve got a jar of dirt!” I completed an analysis of the composition of the soil in my backyard for my AP Environmental Science class, and I found that this sample falls into the category: Silt Loam.

Preventing Pandemics: Why Biodiversity Matters

This evening in AP Environmental Science, I joined a Zoom meeting offered by Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in New York. The meeting covered the importance of biodiversity plays in limiting zoonotic diseases. At 48:40 you can find where Felicia Keesing and Rick Ostfeld answered my question on the non-anthropogenic contributing factors to eliminating biodiversity.

Here’s a project I created for my math class to examine the shift in dynamics in the first movement of Maurice Ravel’s Sonatine in a piecewise function.
